All Snowed In (Iced in more like it)
December 01, 2006
All day long yesterday the sleet fell from the sky. We have about 5 or 6 inches of nothing but sleet and ice on the ground and then a couple inches of snow on top of that. It's bitter cold, its hard to dig the car out of the driveway, and to top it all off the heater broke in the office this morning. So I stayed home. At least until they fixed the heat in the office and I was able to dig myself out of a mess in my driveway. Unfortunatly a few minutes ago I was at the church trying to knock a big chunck of ice off my car with the butt end of a snow shovel when I wacked myself in the head with the metal end. Now I have a big lump on the side of my head and I'm dizzy and my head hurts and my muscles hurt and my feet are cold and I'm tired and I'm hungry and a whole lot of other stuff too!
I'm the type of person, however, who is interested in lots of change. Big storms, ice storms, snow and the like are just a few of my favorite things because for just those moments life seems to slow down. It may put a damper on the hum drum of everyday life, but I like it.
My dog seems to fancy the snow himself. We let him outside and he went skipping across the yard, his little feet going as fast as they can through the snow and ice. He just ran around all over the place. At least I thought it was because he liked it. Come to find out he just ran around until he found something green that happened to be tall enough to stick out of the snow so that he could sniff it and then pee and poop on it. My poor plants that just barely stick out of the snow are now covered in pretty yellow colored snow and dark lumps. Then he runs back in as fast as he can in order to run around the house and get everything wet before I can catch him with the towel.
My head hurts...

It is still tender. I've had a headache every day since I wacked myself in the head. My wife wants me to go to the doctor, but I think its ok.
