Missouri Embryonic Stem Cell Initiative
October 23, 2006
While I have lots to say about this whole issue, I don't have lots of time to talk about it right now. I'm saving that post for another day. Today I want to simply offer some information on this issue. Our pastor shared a message on the Embryonic Stem Cell Initiative on Sunday. If you are interested you can download the mp3 file here. If you would like the message with the slides you can download the m4a file here. This message expresses most of my concerns and views. If you want to find some other information about it you can visit some of these websites below. I'll have more to say on the issue soon.

Please understand that Amendment 2 does not allow for cloning. In fact it specifically bans it. A later post on this website quotes the amendment as allowing it but the poster provides only a partial quote. Cloning cannot help people, medical research will.
As a Christian, I never allow my faith to blind me as to the true nature of things. If this Amendment had failed, Missouri would have lost a great opportunity to help people with painful, debilitating and deadly diseases. The poster is entitled to his/her opinion but must support those opinions with facts and not assumptions.

This is going to allow millions if not BILLIONS of babies killed. I will allow my Faith in God not to blind me but to lead me.

Actually in the following post I gave the support for it. Banning "Human Cloning" and yet allowing Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) is not accomplishing anything. The scientific definition of cloning is SCNT. SCNT is what they did to clone dolly the sheep and the first frog. Just because they are not carrying the children to full term and killing them before they reach a certain age doesn't make it a ban on cloning. Just because they kill the clone before it becomes a full grown infant doesn’t make the process not cloning. Missouri passed a constitutional amendment to kill children. And you as a Christian support the death of innocents. That’s wrong. To claim to be a Christian and support the death of children in the name of medical science is a serious contradiction. A vote for Amendment 2 was a vote for cloning and murder.
