How To Reset The Computer On Your Chevrolet Cobalt: Engine Oil Life System

If you are trying to change the oil in your Chevrolet Cobalt you can see my detailed instructions on my post: "How To Change The Oil On Your Chevrolet Cobalt"

I have recieved several e-mails regarding the Chevy Cobalt and resetting the computer or resetting the Engine Oil LIfe System. If you have lost your book or if you are just too lazy to look it up, here is detailed instructions on how to reset the system:

1. You need to make sure the engine is shut off and turn your key to the RUN possition.

2. Press your info and reset buttons on the computer at the same time and hold it, which will get you into the menue.

3. Press the info button to scroll through the mennu until you see "OIL-LIFE RESET".

4. Press and hold the reset button until the computer screen says "ACKNOWLEDGED"

5. Turn the key back to lock.

Thats it. You're done!

Thanks so much!! It's Chritmas Day, we're leaving for a 1200 mile trip and my husband decided he needs to change the oil and filter TODAY! but couldn't find the filter info in the manual so i googled and there it was! You're a wealth of knowledge lol
