My Fall Line-Up

September 08, 2006

I've found that one of the best ways for me to unwind after a long day is to watch TV. Yes, yes I know I am addicted to it and there is a lot of junk on TV and I could be doing a lot of other things, but lets not think about that. Instead, lets take a look at the fall line-up. Here are the shows that my DVR will be set to record: (All times are CST and the shows in bold are those that I do not miss. All the others are optional from week to week:

Sunday:
7:00 p.m. The Amazing Race {begins September 17th on CBS}
9:00 p.m. Without A Trace {begins September 24th on CBS}

note: Without a trace is usually the first show I cut from my long list of shows. I like it, but most of the time I don't have time to watch it. When I have to make cuts, I will start at the bottom of my priority list. Besides, sometimes is just puts me to sleep. With them moving it to Sunday night, it is more likely that I would watch it, unless I find another show that I like.

Monday:
7:00 p.m. Prison Break {Season already started}
8:00 p.m. Heros {begins September 25th on NBC}
9:00 p.m. CSI: Miami {begins September 18th on CBS}

note: Heros is a new show, it has yet to be seen whether it will stay on my list. CSI (all three of them) is another show that gets put on the back burner. I will watch all of the other shows I like first and if I have time I'll throw in a CSI. If I don't have time then it just sits until I either delete it or I watch it in passing while I'm doing other things like cleaning the house.

Tuesday:
7:00 p.m. House {begins September 17th on FOX}
8:00 p.m. Veronica Mars {begins October 3rd on CW}
8:00 p.m. The Unit {begins September 19th on CBS}
9:00 p.m. Boston Legal {begins September 19th on ABC}

note: Veronica Mars is a show that I liked but couldn't watch the last couple of seasons because it conflicted with other shows. I'm going to give it another shot this season. The Unit is another show that I will try. I didn't watch it last season, but I know a few people who liked it, so I will give it a trial run.

Wednesday:
7:00 p.m. Bones {Season already started on FOX}
7:00 p.m. Jericho {begins September 20th on CBS}
8:00 p.m. Lost {begins September 24th on ABC}
8:00 p.m. Justice {Season already started on FOX}
9:00 p.m. CSI NY {begins September 20th on CBS}
9:00 p.m. Kidnapped {begins September 20th on NBC}

note: Jericho and Kidnapped are two new shows that I will watch a couple times just to see how they are. These will most likely be cut if they are not up to par after two weeks of viewing. Justice is also a new show and I already really like it.

Thursday:
7:00 p.m. Smallville {begins September 28th on CW}
7:00 p.m. Survivor {begins September 14th on CBS}
8:00 p.m. CSI {begins September 21st on CBS}

note: I've had the same problem with Smallville as I did with Veronica Mars. I've missed the last three seasons of Smallville due to scheduling conflicts. I have no clue what is going on in the series, but I'm going to try and watch it again this season. The original CSI is the one of the three that I'll keep over the other two if I'm in a time crunch on a particular week.

Friday:
Nothing

note: Friday is a hard day to watch TV. I usually don't, and if I do it is catch up for the rest of the week..

Sunday Saturday:
Nothing

note: Ditto

Thats it. 18 hours of TV viewing every week. Of course this does not include Good Eats, Ramesy's Kitchen Nightmares, Ham On The Street, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Iron Chef, Mail Call, Dirty Jobs, Project Runway, American Idol, The Apprentice, and a variety of other shows I normally watch.

I thought I would like the Unit but it has too much mush in it. I thought it was going to be about them on a mission and not what the wives were doing back home.

You have two Sundays in your week?

Of all days of the week I would think you would choose another day to have two days of the week.

EEK! I certainly can't live with two Sundays. I need to fix that right away.
