Avoiding Evil

“Examine everything carefully…abstain from every form of evil.”

Tonight was one of the better youth services we have had in a long time. The worship went very well and the message hit home. By some strange coincidence the lesson this week was on love. We’ve been doing a 13-week study on lessons on assurance of salvation and growing in Christ. Without planning, the love lesson ended up being the week of Valentines Day. This week I took the video camera and went around the church asking people 5 questions about love. I then made a video of the different answers to the 5 questions. Now I am curious as to what your answers would be to these questions. Here are the rules: You must answer each question immediately with the first thoughts that come to your mind. You cannot look up any answers, any references, or any definitions. This is to see what you think about love right now.

1. What is love?

2. What does it mean to love one another?

3. Name a scripture verse where Christ commands us to love.

4. What is the source of love?

5. How can you love one another?

  1. Michael Morgan Said,

    1. Love is an action more that an emotion.
    2. It means putting others feelings, needs and wants ahead of your own.
    3. Matthew 6:44
    4. Is this a trick question? God/Jesus.
    5. By telling them about Jesus if they don’t know Him or by just doing something nice for some one not expecting anything in return.

  2. Doug Said,

    1. unconditional acceptence
    2. Put their needs before yours.
    3. Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
    4. The joy of the Lord being reproduced in us as we seek our joy in others.
    5. Bear their burdens.

  3. sewoyl Said,

    1. dying for the other
    2. die to yourself, lif up / confort / … others
    3. hmm sorry can’t remember the reference … “Master, what is the greatest commandment …”
    4. the Lord ou God!
    5. First gotta love God! Then it just pours out!
