Avoiding Evil

“Examine everything carefully…abstain from every form of evil.”

There is something just not right with this. The other day one of my friends brought me a Christmas present, Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. The thing is, I already own Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, but I wanted Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. So, we never opened the box at all and he took it back to Wal-Mart to get his money back. Here is where it gets stupid. The person behind the counter at the service department took the unopened game, ripped it open, searched through the box, and then told him that he couldn’t get his money back because there was nothing wrong with the game. WHAT! He brought an unopened game back and they took advantage of him by opening it. So he ended up getting my Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 plus paying for that other game! I am really quite angry about this. I am considering taking this game back to Wal-Mart tomorrow and asking them why they did that to him.

Anyway, thanks Michael for the present, I love it! I hope we can get this Wal-Mart thing worked out…

**UPDATE - I took the game back. Got the money back. Michael is good. Peace out!

  1. Timothy R. Butler Said,

Odd. I always found Wal-Mart forgiving about returns.

  2. John Said,

Should have had a talk with the manager, it would have been taken care of properly.

  3. Pressed Said,

I plan to. Hope it’s not too late. My friend is not the type to question anyone or to do something about it… I however am, and I plan on taking it.

  4. Shanktified! Said,

I had a similar problem once at Wal-Mart years ago. However, when it came down to it, I pointed to a giant sign in customer service that said “Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed”. Calmly, I clarified the obvious: I was a customer and I was unsatisfied.

The woman took my return, but said she would never do it again. She never had to, I quit shopping at that store and it’s now closed. So there. :-p

    Coincidence? Hmmmmmm we’ll never know.

    Merry Christmas!

  5. Nathan Said,

I believe they have problems with people buying computer games, taking the CD keys, and then returning them, thus stealing a CD key that they either sell on ebay or give away to friends.

If you look on ebay, you’ll see all kinds of CD keys for like 10 bucks, where they say they wont send you the box or cds, just the key, because they can’t send the box, because they returned it.

I’ve known of a lot of people who have tried this, so it may be that they’re cracking down on it and not taking computer game returns.

However, the box was unopened, so it should have been no problem, I dont think the guy knew what he was doing.

  6. Michael Morgan Said,

Thank you. It did all work out
